Professor Dinos Arcoumanis studied Physics at the Aristotle University and Engineering at the University of California, Irvine and Imperial College, London. He served as Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College for many years. He was elected Dean of the School of Engineering at City, University of London, and served as Vice-Chancellor of the same institution from 2008 to 2014. He received the Dugald Clerk Prize (1991) and the Arch T. Colwell Merit Award (1995, 1998) for his extensive research in fluid mechanics and combustion. He served as Greece’s Ambassador for Energy Policy. He is a Member of the Royal Academy of Engineering and Corresponding Member of the Academy of Athens.

Professor Odysseas-Ioannis Zoras is an Emeritus Professor of Surgical Oncology at the University of Crete and an Honorary Doctor of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He served as President of the Hellenic Open University, Rector of the University of Crete, Secretary General for Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and is a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Athens.

A graduate of the Law School of the University of Athens, Aristotle Charalambakis is an Emeritus Professor of Criminal Law at the Democritus University of Thrace, where he has taught Criminal Law since 1991. He has served as Director of the Department of Criminal and Criminal Sciences (1992-2012), Vice Rector of Academic Affairs (1997-2003) and President of the Law School (2010-2014) of the Democritus University of Thrace. He served as Vice President of IKY (2004-2008), President of the Central Scientific Council of Prisons (2008-2010, 2014-2015) and member of the Special Court. Since 2014 he has been teaching at the National School of Judges. Alongside his academic career, he has practised law since 1980 and has served on the boards of directors of companies in the health, pharmaceutical, and export trade sectors.

Andreas Loverdos is a former Associate Professor of Constitutional Law at Panteion University. He has served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Labour and Social Security and Minister of Health.

Nikos E. Karapidakis is Professor Emeritus at the Ionian University and Director of the journal Nea Estia. He is also the editor of the series “History and Politics” published by the Estia Bookshop. He has been honored with the insignia of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres (2016) and Officier des Palmes Académiques (2015) of the French Republic, and has received an award from the Academy of Athens (2015).
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Foundation for Books and Culture.

Georgios Chrousos was born in Patras. During his medical studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), he received a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation with honours and graduated at the top of his class in 1975. He continued his training at the Pathology Clinic of the NKUA (1975-1976), then specialised in Paediatrics at the University of New York (1976–1978), and subsequently at the US National Institutes of Health (1978–1981), focusing on Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Diabetes. His doctoral work was carried out at the Laboratory of Microbiology of the NKUA. In Greece, he was elected professor in 1999 and headed the 1st University Paediatric Clinic of the NKUA, as well as the Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes Unit. He retired in 2018 and was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus of Paediatrics and
Endocrinology of the NKUA.
As part of his academic duties, Professor Chrousos has trained and guided numerous young doctors and researchers, both in the US and in Greece. He has conducted extensive research, publishing more than 1,000 original studies in world class scientific journals. His research has focused on identifying and characterising the endocrine and molecular mechanisms that regulate the beneficial and harmful effects of stress on the human body. His scientific work is widely recognised, ranking him among the most highly cited researchers worldwide, with an H-index of 213 and over 200,000 citations. He has been honoured with major national and international awards, is an elected member of Academia Europaea and the National Academy of Medicine. Since 2024 he has been a Regular Member of the Academy of Athens.

Ismini Kriari is Professor Emeritus of the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, where she taught Constitutional Law and served as Rector (2016–2020) as well as Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and HR (2011–2016). She earned her doctoral degree at Panteion University and pursued postgraduate and research studies at the Universities of Vienna (1981), Giessen (1982), Sapienza, Rome (1991), Bonn (1996).

She is the author of five monographs and numerous scientific papers addressing constitutional law, religious freedom, bioethics, and the protection of human rights. She was the founder of the European Research Institute of Bioethics (2017) and has been a member of important national and international bioethics committees (Council of Europe, UNESCO, NTUA, National Bioethics and Technoethics Commission), as well as of the Board of Directors of the Greek National Committee for UNESCO. At the same time, she served as Special Secretary for Intercultural Education and Diaspora Education at the Ministry of Education (2004–2007).

In recognition of her significant contributions to science and education, she was awarded the Grosses Verdienstkreuz mit Stern by the German Government (2006) and the Chevalier des Palmes Académiques by the French Government (2015), along with distinctions conferred by the Ministries of Education of Russia (2014) and Ukraine (2006). In 2018, she was proclaimed Office Bearer of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.

Konstantinos-Simos Simopoulos is Emeritus Professor of Surgery at the Democritus University of Thrace. He graduated from the Medical School in 1976 with honours and completed the speciality of General Surgery in 1980. He obtained a doctorate in Experimental Surgery in 1980 and his post-doctoral thesis in 1986. He served in surgery for 43 consecutive years, held the position of Professor of General Surgery for 23 years, and directed the Laboratory of Experimental Surgery for 33 years. He headed the 2nd University Surgical Clinic for 31 years. He was Rector of the Democritus University of Thrace for three terms. In 2011, he was elected Corresponding Member of the Academy of Athens. He founded three postgraduate programs, including the first Master's Degree in Bioethics in Greece, in 2015. He has published over 350 scientific papers with over 10,000 citations. He was awarded by the Academy of Athens in 2003 and has received numerous accolades for his contribution to medical science.
