Career Choices for the Future Changemakers!

Keele University Greece participated with great success in the Athens Science Festival 2025, one of Greece’s leading events in science, technology, innovation, and education, offering a wide range of activities as well as an interactive and informative booth aimed at secondary school students, parents, and educators. The festival took place at the Athens Conservatoire.

At the Keele University booth, visitors had the opportunity to engage in challenges, scientific games, and activities designed to encourage them to see the world from a new perspective, think critically, and have fun. The program of activities included:


Cognitive ability tests/personality test (live)
A unique, interactive self-awareness experience! Participants had the chance to discover how they think, concentrate, and react through a series of short, scientifically designed cognitive tests.

From DNA to Protein: Digital Biology & Pharmacogenetics
How do scientists use computational tools to study DNA, analyze gene sequences, and observe the three-dimensional structure of proteins? This activity connects genetic information with pharmacogenetics and modern personalized medicine and is presented in two parts.

Crime Scene Investigation
Penelope Miniati, founding member of the Greek Police DNA Laboratory and the first female director of the Forensic Service, answered audience questions regarding Greece’s unique Investigative Criminology program.

Step Inside the Human Body… in 3D!
A virtual reality experience allowed participants to enter the human body through VR goggles and observe organs and systems come to life in an impressive three-dimensional form.

Paint Your Cells in Festive Colors!
Taking on the role of a bioscientist, participants observed epithelial cells under a microscope using simple, safe dyes, revealing the hidden microcosm within us.

Regenerative Medicine Mythbusters: Fact or Fiction?
What is really true about stem cells and regenerative medicine? Through an interactive quiz, visitors explored key concepts in regenerative medicine, including stem cells and bioprinting.

Blood Under the Microscope of Artificial Intelligence
How are blood tests and blood cells analyzed today with the assistance of Artificial Intelligence (AI), contributing to timely and accurate diagnosis of hematological conditions?

Additionally, the Keele University booth hosted “Career Choices for the Future Changemakers”, where visitors had the opportunity to::
