With a sense of honour, and with full awareness of the responsibility this entails, the public British University of Keele is launching the operation of a branch campus in Greece as of October 2025, in accordance with the official announcement of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports.
The licence granted positions it among the first non-state universities to operate in the country, marking the beginning of a new and exciting era for higher education in Greece.
With a strong emphasis on the quality of applied university teaching, an interdisciplinary approach, and social responsibility, Keele University—founded in 1949 by A.D. Lindsay, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford—brings to Greece innovative programmes of study designed with employability at their core, preparing students for success in the real world. Its world-class research has an impact at regional, national, and international levels, and the University looks forward to extending this contribution to Greece, offering students and their families new, high-quality study options.
Keele University will commence operations in Greece by offering, subject to the evaluation process stipulated by the Ministry of Education, modern university programmes across three Academic Faculties:
- • Faculty of Law – Ranked among the world’s top 100 Schools for international outlook (Times Higher Education World University Subject Rankings, 2023)
- • Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences – Ranked among the top 5 Medical Schools in England (Guardian University Guide, 2025)
- • Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences – Ranked among the world’s top 300 Schools (Times Higher Education World University Subject Rankings, 2022)
The Keele University team in Greece consists of distinguished academics and scientists with high qualifications, international experience, and deep expertise in their academic and research fields.
The new Athens Campus, located on Ippokratous street, forms a modern, dynamic, and interdisciplinary academic environment. Structured across eight thematic levels, it combines educational functionality with innovative architectural design, creating a university setting of high standards. On every floor, state-of-the-art laboratories, innovation hubs, and collaborative spaces have been designed as interconnected ecosystems, enabling dynamic interaction across disciplines, fostering interdisciplinarity, and encouraging research synergies.
