The global fight against cancer at the heart of Keele University Greece’s international scientific collaboration.
On the occasion of World Cancer Day, the scientific journal ecancer medicalscience -a peer-reviewed journal in the field of oncology and cancer research- published the article entitled “The global cancer crisis: a review of growing burden, deepening inequality and initiatives for prevention and early detection.”
The study is the result of a collaboration between the Rector of Keele University Greece, Emeritus Professor of Surgical Oncology Odysseas Zoras, and a globally recognised team of distinguished oncologists, surgeons, and researchers.
The study highlights the rapid increase in the global cancer burden, the urgent need to address health inequalities, and the strengthening of prevention and early detection as key pillars for reducing cancer morbidity and mortality through coordinated, evidence-based prevention policies at a global level.
You may access the study “The global cancer crisis” here.
For Keele University Greece, participation in international scientific networks and contribution to research through internationally recognised institutions constitute core pillars of its academic mission.
